Our Story
Ancient Nutrition is driven by our mission to bring history’s most powerful superfoods to the world with a steadfast commitment to restoring our farmlands and healing our planet through regenerative farming.
Agriculture has been at the center of civilization for centuries - but it’s never looked quite the way it does right now. Big farming encourages practices that harm the soil, waste fertilizer and boost herbicide use, which all increase the emissions of greenhouse gas. At the same time, conventional agriculture discourages practices that could improve soil health and offset dangerous emissions.
Farming contributes to climate change, it’s at the mercy of climate change — and it holds the potential to help solve climate change. All it takes? Changing our approach.
That’s the revolution we want to be part of. A transformation of agricultural production, an evolution of the industry that can have a significant impact on the future of climate change.
That's why we dedicate 1% of all revenue to the R.A.N.C.H Project: our commitment to Regenerative Agriculture, Nutrition and Climate Health. Each initiative we undertake reduces greenhouse gasses by avoiding emissions, reducing waste and sequestering carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere. Our goal is simple: create the change we want to see. This mission is why we’re so proud to be the first farms to become Regenerative Organic Certified (ROCⓇ) in the states of Tennessee and Missouri. This certification goes beyond current organic standards and assures consumers that their purchase makes a positive impact at every level: environmental, ethical, and social.

Planting a Million Member Regenerative Food Forest of superfood-bearing trees, bushes, vines and shrubs
Transforming 5,000,000 lbs of food waste into feed and a living seed bank
Reducing our plastic waste by 25% and transitioning to more sustainable solutions
Here are a few ways we focus on carbon sequestration at our farms.
No-Till Farming
When soil is plowed, carbon rises to the soil’s surface and provides nutrients for crops - temporarily. But as the soil carbon is exposed to oxygen, it transforms into carbon dioxide and contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. No- or low-till farming minimizes soil disturbance, which helps keep carbon in the soil.
Natural Grazing
Pasturing increases soil health, insect diversity and carbon sequestration – as well as promoting animal welfare.
Cover Crops & Crop Rotations
Cover crops are used to slow erosion, improve soil health, and increase biodiversity. These crops can sequester huge amounts of atmospheric carbon by creating activity in the soil - and the roots of cover crops help feed organisms like bacteria, fungi and earthworms, which increases soil carbon levels over time.
We’re making changes outside the farm, too.
Switch from PET to HDPE
We recently switched our product canisters from hard PET to HDPE, which uses 25% less plastic. Those small steps can add up to a huge reduction in waste.
No Plastic Necks or Safety Seals
We’re getting rid of unnecessary plastics wherever possible, while maintaining the integrity of our packaging.
Partnering with PlasticBank
Because we still create plastic, we’re partnering with Plastic Bank to remove 5 million plastic bottles from our oceans and environment.
We’re committed to planting one million superfood-bearing perennial trees, bushes, vines and shrubs, planted by June 2024. Those plants will eventually grow superfoods that we can use as ingredients in our products, which reduces our transportation carbon footprint – and more importantly, creates biodiversity that can sequester more carbon over time.
We’re not stopping there: our hope is to replicate the Million Member Food Forest at locations around the world, with our ultimate goal being 10 million trees over the next 10 years.
We’ve got more to share…
